The other fun thing we did while in NC was going camping with my brother and his family in an area Brett served in during his mission (if you've ever heard the story, it's where he got lost. . . if you haven't heard the story you should). It's WAY up in the mountains and is called Mortimer. It was BEAUTIFUL and a good time.
We headed out to do some sight seeing the second day and ran into a little bit of a "road block." A big old tree had fallen in the road and there was no getting around it.
We went to a couple of Brett's favorite areas that he served in. The first was Valle Crucis where there was an old fashioned candy store (the kids were in heaven)
We also visited Boone (home to Appalachian State and the most hippy town I have ever seen).
Then our last morning before we headed home we went hiking to a little waterfall and Brett tried to teach the kids how to skip rocks.
We had SO much fun on vacation and really enjoyed hanging out with family! David loved his cousins and they were so good with him!
